Cycling News: Critical Mass Cyclist Attacked

Almost exactly two years ago today, former NYPD officer Patrick Pogan was caught on camera lunging, unprovoked, at a passing cyclist during Critical Mass in Times Square. Attempting to cover his tracks, Pogan filed a false criminal complaint against cyclist (and Army vet) Christopher Long. Even after Pogan was found guilty of falsifying criminal records and videotaped assaulting a guy for no reason whatsoever while on duty for the NYPD, his crimes went completely unpunished. After being conditionally discharged from the force, he never spent a day in jail or even on probation. Is this really what we’ve come to expect and accept from the NYPD?
